Atkinson sends money home; mentions fighting near Fredericksburg during the Chancellorsville battle, his regiment's action at Gettysburg, the capture and loss of positions at Fredericksburg (Marye's Heights), and the beginning of the Bristoe Station campaign; and comments on prisoners, execution of deserters, and the possibility of furloughs.
